Val Greer joined Bread Financial in June 2020 as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer.

Val has played a key role in Bread Financial's success over the past six years, leading the expansion of the company's product suite and marketing, digital and customer experience organizations while strengthening business development and relationships during a pivotal period of strategic transformation. Her leadership has driven growth through innovative strategies, attracting and retaining key partners, expanding capabilities and building long-term success. ``

Before joining Bread Financial, Val led the U.S. cards co-brand business at Citigroup and previously served as the general manager of partnerships for JPMorgan Chase. She also held senior leadership positions with increasing responsibility at HSBC, including as the executive director of HSBC’s private label credit card business.

Val holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Manitoba and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Outside of the office, she enjoys skiing and spending time with her husband and their two sons.

In July 2026, she announced plans to retire from Bread Financial in February 2027 to spend more time with her family following a nearly four-decade career in financial services. She will remain engaged in her role until September 2026, at which time she will serve in an advisory capacity until her retirement. Dennis McCarthy will take on expanded responsibilities as Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer.
