Biography

Val Greer joined Bread Financial in June 2020 as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. She brings extensive knowledge and leadership experience to her role where she is responsible for the growth and strategy of the business through product and capability development, enhanced customer experiences, the attraction and retention of merchants, customers, brand partners and cardmembers, as well as the oversight of customer care.

Before joining Bread Financial, Val led the U.S. cards co-brand business at Citigroup, and previously served as the general manager of partnerships for JPMorgan Chase. She also held several senior leadership positions with increasing responsibility at HSBC, including as the executive director of HSBC’s private label credit card business.

In the community, Val is passionate about empowering women and girls and is a supporter of Plan International and a Board Member of Ruling Our Experiences (ROX). Val holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Manitoba and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Outside of the office, she enjoys skiing and spending time with her husband and their two sons.
